I have always been passionate about food and cooking and, hopefully, I will inspire you to get back into your kitchen with  confidence and a willingness to tackle even the most difficult recipes.

After much planning and excitement, I opened Aine’s Kitchen Cookery School in 2014, based in Newry, Co. Down. The idea behind my home based cookery school is to show people that wholesome and delicious food can still be produced in their own kitchens.  I get great pleasure from taking everyday dishes from different countries and giving them a healthy twist.

People tell me my passion and enthusiasm for food is infectious and that when I talk about food, I talk with my hands and my eyes…..both of which are much better at explaining my emotions on food!

After working in restaurants as a Chef for many years, I took time out to have my children but I missed the cooking. During this time, I became very interested in the health benefits of good wholesome food and studied Diet and Nutrition. I truly believe that food that tastes great can also benefit your health.

When I first became interested in Diet & Nutrition and the powerful benefits it has on our bodies and minds, there was no turning back for me.  I believe in simple and uncomplicated dishes that have been prepared and cooked from their natural state.

I advocate the 80:20 rule where 80% of the time,  you are doing your best in terms of eating good, natural and healthy food and 20% of the time, you can then enjoy some treats and a few indulgences – this gives your diet a healthy balance without resorting to extreme measures.

In my Kids Classes,  I teach kids about where their food comes from and how to create delicious and wholesome everyday favourites.  We have lots of fun cooking and baking their favourite meals.
